Happy 2319 Day

Image
Today has been deemed 2319 day. Since it is 2/3/19, or February 2, 2019. It is based on the scene in Monsters, Inc.  (2001) when George Sanderson came back to the monster world from the human world and had a sock on his back. FUN FACT: George was voiced by Samuel Lord Black, a software engineer, and programmer that worked for Pixar. He worked on the films The Incredibles (2004), A Bug's Life (1998), Finding Nemo (2003), and Toy Story 2 (1999). This was the first 2319. This was the second 2319. Here are the bloopers from the film, including a failed 2319 take. 13th Anniversary of Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!

Image
Wow! Thirteen years since Mike and Sulley made it to the parks. On January 22, 2006, we were introduced to  Monsters, Inc.  Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!  in  Hollywood Pictures Backlot  in  California   Adventure . The space that houses the  Monsters, Inc.  (2001) inspired attraction sat vacant for 4 years while Disney tried to fill its void with a “wanted” attraction. You see, the space once housed  Superstar   Limo , a very mediocre and boring attraction. Guests would ride in a limo through the streets of Hollywood and see celebrities like Joan Rivers, Regis Philbin, Cher, Antonio Banderas, Cindy Crawford, Tim Allen, Jackie Chan, Drew Carey, Melanie Griffith, and Whoopi Goldberg. That attraction was there on  California Adventure’s  opening day February 8, 2001, and closed only eleven months later on January 11, 2002. Lets’ jump back in time and go on Superstar Limo as ...

Upon entering Dream Productions in  Inside Out , you can spot two large monster feet. This is a nod to Ted, the monster whose legs we can see when Mike and Sulley are crossing the street in  Monsters, Inc .
