DISNEYLAND: That's Not The Disney Crest

The family crest over the entrance archway is said to be that of the Disney family according to Cast Members, tour guides, and seasoned Disneyland veterans. I am not sure how accurate that is. From what I can find, the Disney family crest has three fleur-de-lis in the middle of it that represents purity. The crest on the castle has three lions in the middle which represent courage and is the crest for England. It was also the crest for King Richard the Lionheart, of England. It was added to the castle in 1960. The photo on the left is the crest on the castle. The center photo is the Disney Family crest from the Castle Heraldry Shoppe inside the castle only 30 feet away, which has been in Disneyland since 1994, and in its current location since 2008. The photo on the right is the crest logo for C.R.
